Today is April 17th 2012, we were in Gettysburg this morning, then went to visit my good friends the Amish. Everyone had a blast; this is by far a favorite day on the American Heritage Tours. Everyone was very well behaved and enjoyed the day….stand by for pictures!
Thanks

Good Evening,
Today is Monday April 16, 2012, we started the day off at the White House only to get off and take a picture of it as the buses went around the block and then came back to pick us up! After that we went to Arlington National Cemetery where we saw the changing of the guards, the JFK grave site, and the Arlington House. It was beautiful out, about 90 degrees with the sun shining! After Arlington we sat in the shade and had a picnic lunch, then headed back over the bridge into Washington DC. The adults and student had “on their own time” to visit the museums they may have missed yesterday and if they wanted to go they went to the Holocaust Memorial Museum. We ate dinner at the Old Post Office Pavilion. We went to the Memorials around 5:30pm and now we are on our way to Gettysburg! Tomorrow is a fun day in Gettysburg and Amish Country and then we eat dinner at that we eat dinner family style and head to Fort Washington, PA! Over all a very good hot day!
Thanks have a great night,

Good Evening,
Today is Sunday April 15, 2012 and the events of today were as followed, this morning we had breakfast early and then headed out to Ford’s Theater. You could not have asked for a better day in Washington DC it was BEAUTIFUL!! About 88 degrees with a nice warm breeze. So we started at Ford’s Theater and from there went into the Peterson House that’s where Lincoln actually died. After that the groups had “on their own time” in Washington I suggested they do the museums near the US Capitol Building that way they wouldn’t have far of a walk to the Capitol when we take the group picture and get picked up. After Washington DC we went to Medieval Times for dinner and I am hearing great things about DC and dinner. Overall the day was great! Everyone seems happy and I am very very happy even with a 160 people we are on schedule and everything seems to be running like clockwork, also the children are being great, no behavior problems at all and the adults are great. Winslow, Messalonskee, Maranacook and Saint Michael’s should all be proud because these students are representing their schools and the Alfond Youth Center very well. Tomorrow morning we go view the White House bright and early than head to Arlington National Cemetery, and then back into Washington DC to do more museums and the Memorials that night, then off to Gettysburg tomorrow night staying at the Days Inn in Gettysburg.
Thanks and have a great night,
